Mark Rubal has called Fort Bend County, Texas, home for more than 27 years. It’s where he raised all five of his children, built lasting community ties, and witnessed the county’s extraordinary growth. As Fort Bend County has grown, so has the demands on public safety and the justice system. Mark understands these challenges because he has lived them — both as a resident and as a legal professional.
For over 35 years, Mark has served as a trial lawyer in Texas and in State and Federal Courts across the country.
He began his legal career in the Harris County District Attorney’s Office from 1990 to 1994, where he prosecuted hundreds of cases, including aggravated felonies and murder trials. Following his time as a prosecutor, Mark entered private practice, focusing on both criminal defense and civil litigation.
This dual experience gives Mark a comprehensive understanding of the legal system from every perspective, allowing him to exercise discretion fairly and responsibly as District Attorney.
Mark has been Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1995, a distinction held by only a small percentage of Texas attorneys. He also holds an AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest peer-reviewed distinction for attorneys, recognizing the highest level of professional excellence, legal skill, integrity, and ethical standards.
